Beginner’s Course FAQ


What age do you have to be?

The club have a discretionary minimum age of 8 years.


How fit do I need to be for archery?

Archery requires only a basic level of fitness, if you have any concerns please get in touch.


I have a disability. Is archery for me?

Archery is for everyone. It is one of the few sports where parents and their children can take part together and there are many adjustments that can be made so that people of all needs can get involved. Our coaches have experience in supporting disabled archers those with visual impairment and we have been awarded an Insport award in recognition for our capability in helping people with all kinds of disabilities to get involved.


What happens if I miss a session?

We understand that sometimes things crop up unexpectedly. We will always try to help you make up missed time.


Do parents/guardians need to be on site with child archers?

It is the responsibility of the parents and guardians to remain on site during training.


Do I need my own archery equipment?

The club has an extensive range of equipment for you to borrow.


What should I wear on a beginner’s course?

Any comfortable casual clothing. For safety you need closed footwear, long hair tied back and any facial jewellery removed.


Can I join the club?

Once you complete the beginners course you will receive a certificate. You will also receive information about the club along with a membership pack, you can complete this if you want to join.


Can I take photos on the course?

Of course. We have a photography policy so only take photos of yourself and those you are responsible for. The club itself tends to take photos for social media, if you (or your children) prefer not to be photographed please let the coaches know.
